The Department of Economics at Central European University (economics.ceu.edu) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position. Any field is considered but preference is given to empirical economics and applied econometrics. Initial contract will be for four years. There is a possibility of promotion to a permanent position by the end of that period or before.

Responsibilities include teaching and producing high quality academic research. Compensation and teaching load will be competitive with top European academic institutions. Applicants should have - or be close to completing - a Ph.D. and demonstrate strong potential in research and teaching.

The language of instruction is English, knowledge of Hungarian is not required.

Applications should include a cover letter, three letters of reference, a curriculum vitae, and a published or unpublished research paper.
