The Republican Staff of the Congressional Joint Economic Committee seeks a senior staff economist to conduct public policy research and analysis. The position primarily requires the production of independently-written economic reports but also involves working closely with other economists on the staff and academics throughout the country. A full-time, staff position is being offered through the remainder of the congressional term ending January 3, 2017. A Master’s degree in economics or a related field is required. A Ph.D. in economics is strongly preferred.
The Joint Economic Committee’s mission is to review economic conditions and make recommendations to Congress about a broad range of policy issues. The Committee holds hearings, conducts original research and analysis, and advises Members of Congress on economic policy.
