ACLI is seeking a Senior Research Analyst responsible for maintaining production of Investment Bulletins, implementing analytical projects using external data sources, developing expertise in issues related to the life insurance industry, regulation, and taxation. Position also involves compiling, verifying, editing, analyzing data collected through surveys and third-party databases, working with other Research Analysts on research publications, assisting the Vice President and Director of Research on projects and responding to requests from colleagues and member company staff.
MA or MS in economics, finance, or statistics. Minimum five years of analytical/statistical experience, or Ph.D. and two years of related work experience. Experience working with large databases such as the Survey of Consumer Finances a plus. Strong mathematical, analytical, research, computer skills (MS-Access, MS-Excel) required. Proficiency with SAS programming or similar statistical software. Computer programming skills in VBA and/or SQL desired. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines. This position requires careful quality control, taking responsibility for projects, working with minimal supervision and comfortable working individually and in teams. Able to communicate verbally and in writing and explain technical concepts to a general audience in meetings and in public forums. Strong interpersonal skills, willingness to collaborate, and sense of humor essential.
