The Department of the Interior Office of Policy Analysis is responsible for assisting in providing economic analysis, evaluating Departmental programs, developing new programs, major program changes, carrying out major studies of policies and programs, conducting economic analyses of the full range of matters and issues affecting or touching upon the activities of the Department and other Federal and State agencies; including Indian trust resources such as Indian lands, minerals and natural resources, and Indian programs to support Tribal Nations; and to meet federal trust and treaty responsibilities.
This position is focused primarily on policies, programs and issues associated with DOI programs serving Native Americans and Alaska Natives. The individual will work as part of a staff of resource economists and program analysts furnishing analysis to decision makers;participate in evaluations, economic studies, and analyses of major program issues related to Americans, Indian and Alaska Natives (AIAN) and programs that serve AIAN; also may participate in agency-wide economic studies, analyses of major program and budget issues, and the development of methodology and technical guidance for economic and program analysis; participate in efforts to strengthen the socioeconomic data available on tribes, Native Americans, and Native Alaskans.
