The Department of Economics at the University of Victoria invites applications for up to three tenure track Assistant Professor positions, starting 1 July 2018. One position is in Econometrics; the other two are open to any economics field. Candidates must describe how their research will complement or extend existing research capacity in the Department (see web.uvic.ca/econ). Candidates for the Econometrics position must indicate this in their application.

Candidates must have a completed PhD, or be close to completion, and have an established research programme, as demonstrated by either publications in scholarly outlets or a strong research pipeline including high-quality research targeted at leading scholarly outlets.

Candidates must be able to provide both graduate and undergraduate level instruction in core areas, as well as supervision and teaching in their area(s) of specialization. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, as evidenced through course evaluations or reference letters. All candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
