The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment, at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Strategic Management. The position start date is July 1, 2018.
Qualified applicants must have a PhD in Management, Economics or Sociology, with a focus on Strategic Management by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, externally funded research program. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. Evidence of excellence in teaching is demonstrated through teaching accomplishments (e.g. awards, recognition, new course and curriculum development), strong letters of reference and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application.
Evidence of excellence in research is demonstrated through top-quality working papers, publications in top-ranked and field-relevant academic journals or a research pipeline that is at high international levels, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.
Demonstrated ability to teach in core strategic management courses such as competitive strategy, corporate strategy or strategic change is an essential criterion.
Select applicants will be invited to present their research at the Rotman School to faculty and students.

Within the University of Toronto the Area has close ties with the departments of Economics and Sociology. All Rotman Strategy Ph.D. students complete graduate level courses in at least one of these departments.
