The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in Macroeconomics (#JPF00467-18). Applicants should be able to contribute to departmental research strengths in macroeconomics, open economy macro, international finance, and monetary economics. We have a preference for candidates with expertise in any area of applied research within the field of macroeconomics.

The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master’s program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service.

The selected candidate must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. We welcome candidates who understand the barriers facing women and minorities who are underrepresented in higher education careers, and who have experience in equity and diversity with respect to teaching, mentoring, research, life experiences, or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
