Full Text of JOE Listing:
The College of Business and Economics at the University of Hawaii, Hilo announces one Instructor position to begin as early as August 1, 2018.
Duties:
Teach four courses per semester, two semesters per year. Courses include Health Economics, Introductory Economics, Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics and other Economics courses at the undergraduate level. Some courses may be taught via the Internet. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress. Advise Business and Economics program students. Maintain a minimum of five office hours per week. Participate in mandatory faculty meetings. Engage in community and University services. Support our programs for reaccreditation of the AASCB.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Economics by August 2018. Some teaching experience. Ability to teach Health Economics, Introductory Economics, Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, and some additional Economics courses at the undergraduate level.
Desirable Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics with specialization in Health Economics by August 2018. At least two years of college teaching experience. Demonstration of scholarly activities. Ability to teach Health Economics at the graduate level and various Economics courses at the undergraduate level.
