The Department of Business and Economics, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, invites applications for one or more tenure track positions as Assistant Professor of Finance starting on August 1st, 2018 or on a mutually agreed date. The duration of the assistant professorship is six years including a tenure review.
Job Qualifications:
We seek candidates with a strong research potential in Finance who must demonstrate the ability to publish in leading international journals within Finance or related disciplines. All areas of Finance are invited and knowledge of Danish is not required for the position. Applicants should have completed their Ph.D. in Finance, Economics or a related discipline prior to starting.
About the Finance Group:
The Finance Group is an active and growing research group and a central player at the department; for further information please visit www.sdu.dk/finance. The aim of the Finance Group is to carry out research of high international standards documented through publications in internationally distinguished journals and through presentations at top conferences. The Finance Group holds an active seminar series with various speakers from renowned international universities as well as workshops. Faculty members conduct research within all main areas of Finance and frequently interact in colloquia meetings. The department provides a supportive research environment and research facilities, data (e.g., CRSP and Compustat), travel support, etc. are generally very good.
The Finance Group offers undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance. The teaching load is favorable. Beneficial tax agreements may apply to non-Danish applicants. The remuneration package is competitive at the European level and includes a fixed-term stipend to qualified candidates and substantial publication bonuses funded by the newly established Danish Finance Institute.
