University Information: California State University, Bakersfield, founded in 1970, is one of twenty-three campuses of the CSU System and currently has an enrollment of over 9,000 students. The University services a socially and ethnically diverse population of 800,000 in an area of 10,000 square miles. The city of Bakersfield (population over 350,000) is located in the southern San Joaquin Valley and has a much lower cost of living than coastal California.
School Information: The AACSB accredited School of Business and Public Administration houses four departments, including the Department of Economics. Department Information: The Department of Economics currently consists of six faculty members. The department offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, as well as a concentration in the BS in Business Administration, and houses BS degrees in Agricultural Business and Environmental Resource Management.

Description: Applications are invited for a tenure-track position starting on August 15, 2018.
Qualifications: The department seeks a candidate who is student-oriented, an excellent teacher, and who has an active research agenda. The incumbent must meet Academic Qualifications for AACSB maintenance of accreditation; and is expected to contribute to Department and School initiatives in the community, such as applied research relating to the regional economy and networking related to his or her experience.
Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Economics earned by the start date of August 15, 2018.
Primary field of specialization in urban and regional economics.
Experience in regional modeling.
Demonstrated record of excellent teaching, and an active research agenda.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD acquired after 2013.
Experience in regional modeling, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
Secondary fields of specialization in applied microeconomics, such as Industrial Organization, or Applied Econometrics.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
