The Agricultural Economics Department in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources seeks candidates for the Michael Yanney Chair, one of three endowed faculty members forming the core of the Clayton K. Yeutter Institute for International Trade and Finance at the University of Nebraska. Appointment is a nine-month tenure track position, 60 percent research, 35 percent teaching, and 5 percent service, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
This endowed chair will focus on policy issues in international agriculture trade as influenced by trade agreements and the evolving nature of global supply chains. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses on international agricultural trade and strategic trade policy. The incumbent will also be expected to publish in scholarly journals and to advise graduate and undergraduate students. As an associate of the Yeutter Institute, the incumbent will collaborate with other Yeutter Institute faculty members and work to communicate information about significant issues in international agricultural trade to students, colleagues, state and national policy makers, and the general public.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics or closely related areas and a record of scholarly contributions related to international trade and finance commensurate with the rank hired and which would qualify the candidate for tenure in the department. Preferred qualifications: A demonstrated ability to attract competitively-funded research, to work in multidisciplinary teams to address global trade and finance issues and a demonstrated excellence in teaching and student advising.
