We seek a highly motivated, dedicated postdoctoral research associate to take a leadership role and conduct innovative research at the Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Biofuels Innovation (CABBI), funded by the Department of Energy. The postdoc will lead research in the lab of Prof. Madhu Khanna, that links economic models with biophysical and hydrological models to understand the economic incentives for producing advanced biofuel crops under risk and uncertainty, the design of contractual arrangements and policies to promote advanced biofuels and bioproducts and their implications for land use and the environment, including, carbon mitigation and water quality.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Energy Economics, Operations Research or related field and experience in Computational Modeling, Econometrics and Spatial Analysis. Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. within the past 5 years and/or by start date. Expertise in using programming software and GIS as well as interest in water resource economics, life-cycle carbon analysis, and policy analysis are desirable. Excellent communication skills and an interest in working with interdisciplinary researchers will be among the selection criteria. The position is available for starting at the earliest after January 1, 2018 for two to three years based on satisfactory performance.
