Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Texas Policy Lab (www.texaspolicylab.org) is looking to hire economists who would like to work on pressing policy issues and inform policy-making in Texas. The position will entail conducting independent research, managing the conceptualization, administration and operations of these research project(s). S/he will work with Rice University faculty and TPL staff to determine and manage a research agenda in evaluating the impact of
government policies. S/he will manage a team in cleaning data sets and estimating econometric models, and assist with writing Internal Review Board (IRB) proposals. S/he will also convey vision, ideas, goals, and issues, as well as produce reports and presentations to a nontechnical audience.
We seek to hire empirical microeconomists with experience in program evaluation in one of the following areas:
1. Criminal Justice
2. Early Childhood and Youth Development
3. Healthcare and Public Health
4. Labor markets
