The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, together with the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research (UChicago Consortium), a unit in the Urban Education Institute, invite applications for an appointment as a Senior Research Associate (SRA). The UChicago Consortium is a research-practice partnership that investigates how programs, policies, and practices are working in the Chicago Public Schools. The SRA will conduct original research consistent with the Consortium model, applying rigorous methods to answer questions of policy and practice in collaboration with educational stakeholders. The candidate will also provide guidance to other researchers at the Consortium on how to work with policymakers at both the local and national levels.
Candidates must have a doctorate in a social science discipline or statistics, and evidence of expertise and impact in educational research through at least 10 publications (books, articles, reports or book chapters) that have been cited by other scholars. Candidates must have worked with policymakers in a local district and/or in the federal government. They should show evidence that they have established a national reputation as an expert in K-12 educational research, for example, through invitations to present their work at national meetings and conferences.
