Monmouth College, a selective, private, residential liberal arts college in Illinois invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant or associate professor position in economics, with preference for expertise on International Economics, Development Economics, Public Policy, and/or similar field to begin August 2019. The ideal candidate will be an excellent teacher eager to teach a range of economics courses and integrate knowledge from a variety of disciplinary perspectives in a liberal arts environment. Ph.D. preferred but willing to consider other appropriate academic and professional qualifications including a D.B.A. or Master’s Degree with relevant experience.
Our business and economics department has a strong track record of graduating top U.S. business leaders, such as a CEO of Ford Motor Company, the founder and head of Pennzoil, and the President of Morningstar. We have a strong, dedicated faculty who combine sound academic backgrounds, extensive hands-on business and economics, management and government experience, quantitative skills, law, and leadership to provide a quality education. We are fortunate to work with exceptional colleagues in an equally successful Accounting Department. Our distinctive liberal arts approach and quality teaching have been rewarded with high levels of student satisfaction and made the business and economics department the college’s largest program.
