The Central Bank of Chile is looking to fill up one Senior Economist position in its International Analysis Unit.

Senior economists at the International Analysis Unit lead high-quality applied research to guide the economic policy process at the Central Bank, with special emphasis in international economic topics. The economist is expected to contribute to identify relevant policy issues, writing policy notes, and briefing the Board in topics related to the international economy. The candidate should also contribute to the Bank providing high-quality analysis regarding both the evolution of domestic and foreign macroeconomic variables through the use of structural models. It is also expected that the economist conducts high-quality research publishable in academic journals, and participates in international conferences

The International Analysis Unit is part of the Monetary Policy Division, and is endowed with various PhD and Master-level economists graduated from leading universities.

Applicants should have a PhD in Economics or equivalent by September 2019. Experienced, already graduated PhD economists are also encouraged to apply at the Senior Economist level. Areas of interest should preferably be in monetary policy, international macroeconomics and finance, labor economics, and macroeconometrics. Candidates with experience in structural macroeconomic modelling are especially encouraged to apply.
