The Department of Economics in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at an Assistant Professor level, with the position beginning August 2019. The appointment may have the possibility of renewal for a second and final year, depending upon future allocations of faculty positions. This position involves substantial teaching responsibilities in both lower and upper level undergraduate courses.

Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience. Teaching experience or the ability to teach courses in some of the following areas at the undergraduate (or MA) level are a plus: international economics, econometrics, and applied quantitative analysis.

Applicants should have received a Ph.D. in economics prior to employment. Applicants should provide a cover letter, CV, three reference letters, and teaching evaluations. All applications must be submitted through the American Economic Association’s Job Openings for Economists website (https://www.aeaweb.org/joe/). Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. At the time of offer a background check will be required. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but to receive full consideration, complete applications must be received by April 15th. Candidate interviews will be conducted via Skype starting mid-April. Candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
