The Education Policy Initiative seeks candidates interested in deepening their knowledge of rigorous, applied quantitative education policy research for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship.
Fellows will be trained to estimate the causal effects of education policies and practices on student outcomes, emphasizing the use of state and district longitudinal data. They will collect and analyze data, participate in research planning, write papers, and present results at seminars and conferences. Fellows will learn to develop a research partnership and to communicate results to non-technical audiences.
Fellows will spend 60% of their time working on ongoing research at the Ford School and 40% building new collaborations at the university and their own ongoing work. Fellows will receive mentorship from professors Susan Dynarski, Brian Jacob, Christina Weiland, and Kevin Stange. They will also work with cross-disciplinary faculty. This is a 2-year fellowship beginning in the summer of 2020 with funding is provided by IES training grant R305B170015.
Applicants must complete their PhD prior to August 31, 2020 and have academic research experience in public policy, economics, education, quantitative methodology, or other similar fields.
