The Health Economics Resource Center (HERC) seeks a health economist to join our team. We conduct health economics research and evaluation projects in the Veterans Health Administration using one of the largest healthcare data warehouses in the United States.
The strongest candidate will have experience with applied econometrics, familiarity with the health care field, be an author on one or more published article in a professional publication, and have experience writing grant proposals. A successful health economist will develop an independent research agenda, collaborate with interdisciplinary investigators, lead research teams, and write proposals and publications for peer review.
A Ph.D. in economics, health services research, or a related discipline is required.
HERC is co-located with three other large health services research centers, including the Center for Innovation to Implementation within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Current areas of national importance include health care access, substance use treatment, mental health care and suicide prevention, and implementation science. HERC is also affiliated with the Stanford University School of Medicine.
