Resources for the Future (RFF) currently has openings for fulltime mid-career and senior researchers in environmental economics and related fields including policy analysis, data analytics, engineering and operations research. RFF is a nonprofit research institution in Washington, DC. (www.rff.org). RFF researchers study, publish about and inform important policy issues, interact with stakeholders from multiple sectors and ideologies, and share their expertise in a range of public and private settings. RFF’s position as a storied institution in Washington, DC affords us a wide range of opportunities to connect with key conversations and decision-making processes underway. RFF is interested in candidates working on climate, energy, and land and water management issues appropriate to our mission. We are especially interested in transportation; climate impacts, adaptation and resilience; and technology, research, development and deployment.
All candidates should have (i) a PhD or advanced degree, (ii) excellent written communication skills, (iii) proven ability to perform high quality research, (iv) the demonstrated ability and desire to engage in the policy process, and (v) an established record of research leadership and management. Proven ability to fundraise for research projects is highly desirable. Fundraising responsibilities would grow over time. Candidates should be prepared to be in residence at Resources for the Future’s office in Washington, DC.
Annual salary and initial contract length are negotiable and commensurate with experience and professional success. Candidates applying before December 15, 2019 would be eligible for an interview at the January 2020 Allied Social Science Associations meeting in San Diego, but such an interview is not necessary for consideration.
