The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) supports HUD’s mission to create cohesive, economically healthy, and resilient communities. PD&R anticipates an opening for a well-qualified economist (new graduate or mid-career) to work in its Public Finance and Regulatory Analysis Division (PFRAD). The economists in PFRAD specialize in housing, urban, public and regulatory economics. Primary duties will include:
• analyzing the economic effects of HUD regulations.
• analyzing data concerning the low-income housing tax credit;
• advising program offices on economic policies; and
• developing an individual research program that supports the mission of HUD.
Salary range: $72,030 to $133,465 commensurate with education and experience.
Successful applicants will have strong applied research and writing skills. U.S. citizenship is required for all positions.
