The Monash Department of Economics seeks expressions of interest from scholars of international distinction for appointment as Full Professor, subject to budgetary approval.   Compensation will be internationally competitive. In support of our research and impact objectives, the Department offers low teaching loads and generous funding for travel and research.

While field is open, emphasis is placed on a research and impact focus that will be relevant to post-covid economic and social recovery including such areas as macroeconomics, public economics, labour economics, innovation and the digital economy. Applicants should have an excellent research record of consistently publishing in leading international journals, strong evidence of research impact, an outstanding teaching record, and a demonstrated capacity to raise external grants.

Economics at Monash is placed among the top 50 groups in the world according to a range of widely recognised rankings and metrics (2019 examples: ARWU 42, QS 45, Tilburg 24, RePEc 49, USNews 36). In the Australian excellence in research assessment, Monash received the top rating for economics in all categories.
