The Department of Economics at College of Business Administration (CBA), the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Economics. The top candidate would be expected to teach principles level classes and contribute to the growing Business Analytics concentration (both undergraduate and graduate courses). This position will play a unique role in expanding economic instruction and growing the Business Analytics program through teaching and curriculum development. The successful candidate is preferable to be a passionate teacher with a commitment and enthusiasm for teaching Principles classes and Business/Data Analytics courses.
The ideal candidate is expected to engage in leading research and publish in high quality journals. Demonstration of the use of econometric and data science tools in the research is strongly encouraged. We encourage applicants with any applied research passion to apply.
The Department of Economics has three undergraduate economics programs and a Master of Economics program. Additionally, the department has specialized core/required courses in the MBA program, EMBA program, and executive education programs. Beyond the core economic courses, the economic department contributes extensively to the data science programs at CBA. CBA offers several high-demand data science programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels with concentrations in Econometrics and Data Analytics as well as Business Analytics.
