The Department of Agricultural Economics is seeking an academic-year faculty member to develop an internationally recognized program of scholarly teaching and research, in agribusiness management, broadly defined.
The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s expertise and national reputation in the area of agribusiness management. The candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses and assist in furthering this tradition of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education by offering well-taught and rigorous curricula. The successful candidate is also expected to conduct scholarly research and publish in high impact peer reviewed journals. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging the industry of food and agricultural businesses in developing a research/education agenda, securing extramural funding, and communicating with agribusiness leaders.
Appointments at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure presume evidence of excellence in scholarship that establishes the individual as a significant contributor to the field or profession, with potential for national distinction. Appointments at the rank of Professor presume national distinction in scholarship, as evident in the candidate's wide recognition and outstanding contributions to the field or profession. The rank of the appointment will be determined based on the applicant’s prior scholarly impact, leadership experiences, and national and international reputation as determined by the faculty.
Required Qualifications:
1. The candidate must have a PhD in Agricultural
Economics, Business, Management, Economics, Behavior,
Marketing, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior
or other closely related field;
2. Evidence of high-quality research
3. Evidence of effective teaching;
4. Demonstrated strengths in collaboratively leading
teams with a diverse set of colleagues;
5. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in
writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in research and teaching in agribusiness
management; and
2. Experience delivering academic research to non-academic
audiences.
