Financial Economist/Senior Financial Economist in Risk Analysis Division

The Commercial Credit Risk Analysis Division (CCRAD), part of the OCC Economics Department in Washington D.C., has openings for financial economists and senior financial economists. The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks, federal branches, and agencies of foreign banks and federal savings associations. Financial Economists in Commercial Credit RAD conduct quantitative analysis and research to provide supervision support and to advise the OCC senior management on policy and regulation in commercial credit risk and enterprise risk, including operational risk, stress testing, securitization, economic capital, asset management and net revenue modeling area. Financial Economists in CCRAD also conduct research and analysis on banking, financial markets and general financial economics.

Requirements

At the junior level, candidates will have a demonstrated interest and capability in understanding commercial credit or financial markets, as evidenced by completed scholarly research work in related areas or defending their research dissertation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field in a timely manner, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience. At the senior level, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated expertise as evidenced by a substantial publication record and/or significant financial industry experience in related areas. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and participate on bank exams reviewing banks’ quantitative models used in commercial credit markets and enterprise risk management.
