The College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University invites applications for Faculty Director of the BU Initiative on Cities (IoC) beginning July 1, 2021. We seek a senior scholar of cities with an established record of cutting-edge research, academic leadership and public engagement to lead the IoC (https://www.bu.edu/ioc/), a campus-wide research initiative that engages faculty and students to support and promote interdisciplinary research on cities and connect urban research, teaching and practice. We are looking for academic leaders from relevant disciplinary backgrounds who share our commitment to ensuring that BU is inclusive, equitable, and diverse. We encourage applications from those with a record of productive academic partnerships with diverse urban communities and municipal partners, and a strong vision of community building among faculty, students and an array of stakeholders from academia, government, nonprofits and the private sector.
