Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Economics (several posts) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 500540)
Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Economics (several posts) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 500540), to commence on July 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidates with more experience and qualifications may be considered for direct tenure subject to approval.
Applicants should possess or be close to completing a Ph.D. degree with outstanding research promise. While we are especially interested in the fields of applied economics (e.g., development/labor/public/environment/health/political economy, etc.) and macroeconomics, we will also consider strong candidates from other fields. The appointees should be able to teach undergraduate and/or graduate degree programmes, and are expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research and services. Applicants for appointment as Professor should have a proven record of high-quality scholarship and teaching, and should be able to conduct an ongoing active research agenda, to attract competitive grants, and to provide leadership and services within both the Faculty and the University. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
