Job description

The Department of Economics invites applicants for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position (formally, postdoctoral fellow, SKO 1352) Associate Professor position. The opening is for a general research position including teaching and administrative duties. The position is open for all areas in economics and finance. In particular, the Department is looking for strong candidates in applied economics and econometrics, including labor and public economics, broadly defined

Qualifications and personal skills

Applicants should have a PhD in economics from no earlier than 2016, or be near completion so that the requirements for the doctoral degree are fulfilled by September 30th 2021. Candidates who has worked as researcher for more than one year after their PhD will be evaluated for the tenure-track Associate professor position, and candidates with less or no research time since PhD for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

The assessment of applicants is based on scientific merits, teaching, research leadership, administrative experience and personal qualities, as well as the Department's teaching obligations and long-term academic development. Personal suitability will be emphasized. Women are encouraged to apply.

The main purpose of the fellowship is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines.

A starting pay of NOK 643 000 – 708 000, depending on level of competence
