The Department of Economics, Philosophy and Political Science (EPP), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for two tenure track professorial positions. The first is at the rank of Assistant Professor and the second is at the rank of Assistant or early career Associate Professor (less than 10 years since earning their Ph.D although this may be extended to account for maternity or parental leave).

The areas of specialization are open with preference for applied microeconomics and applied econometrics. The successful candidates will have a PhD in Economics and will become members of the EPP Department http://epp.ok.ubc.ca/welcome.html. The appointments are expected to start on July 1, 2021.

Candidates will demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, teaching excellence and a respectful and collegial learning and working environment. Candidates will demonstrate an already existing or potential to develop a record of high quality, scholarly contributions in their respective field of research, including the potential to develop externally-funded research programs, as appropriate to their experience and qualifications. These positions present candidates with the opportunity to contribute to the further development of the curriculum, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and fulfill service obligations to the University and community. The ideal candidate will also have a strong commitment to Indigenous engagement. The Department of EPP, at UBC’s Okanagan campus, is a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary department of 29 faculty members with research clusters in a wide range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields as well as active engagement in the scholarship of teaching.
