Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) aims to recruit a research-oriented economist for a core faculty position at GU-Q. Core faculty positions are full-time positions designed to replicate the institutional commitment to academic freedom and professional opportunities associated with tenure-track appointments.

We seek applications from colleagues in all economic disciplines, with some preference on development, international economics, or on applied work. Applicants must have exceptional promise of future research productivity and outstanding teaching credentials. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Qatar offers a diverse, safe and family-friendly environment. Compensation is very competitive and includes an annual 2/9 summer research stipend for active scholars. Faculty at Georgetown University in Qatar are eligible to apply for Qatar National Priorities Research Program grants from the Qatar National Research Fund. QNRF also offers competitive research grants for early-career scholars.

Interviews will be conducted virtually. Candidates should provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a job-market paper, copies of teaching evaluations, and three letters of recommendation.
