The Economics and Business Department at Ohio Wesleyan University invites applications to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2021. We seek applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. Candidates should have a PhD by the end of summer of 2021.
The successful candidate will teach environmental and/or ecological economics, research methods, principles of economics and an elective course that aligns with the general research/teaching interest of the candidate such as labor economics, public finance, monetary economics, economics of gender and race, and social/political economy. We strongly encourage applicants whose work and teaching practice could potentially serve the Environment and Sustainability program and/or Social Justice. The typical teaching load is 3/3 courses per year.
Applicants should submit online: a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness, a diversity and inclusion statement, and a sample of recent scholarship. In their diversity and inclusion statement, applicants should address how they can contribute to our goals of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, through their teaching, advising, mentorship and scholarship to better serve first-generation, low-income, LGBTQ, students of color, and those with different abilities. Preference will be given to candidates who complete their applications by December 15, 2020.
