The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) seeks to fill multiple Ph.D. level research economist positions in 2021. A successful applicant must provide evidence of being proficient in data science techniques such as machine learning as well as being able to conduct high-quality research in economics in economics to support BEA’s mission and is expected to be able to work independently and publish in refereed journals.
Candidates should submit a research paper, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation through JOE by January 31, 2021. Candidates MUST be U.S. citizens at time of application.
BEA is a leader in the development of new and innovative approaches to economic measurement and its mission is to strengthen our understanding of the U.S. economy by improving GDP and other national, regional, industry, and international accounts data. BEA provides significant research support, including numerous datasets and computing resources. Starting salaries range from $112,240 to $157,709, depending on experience.
