The Department of Economics and Finance in the Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee invites applications for a two-year Faculty Fellows Postdoctoral Fellowship to start in June 2021. The fellowship is part of the Belmont University Fellows Program, a post-doctoral teaching and research program that provides a comprehensive, university-level teaching and research experience with a Belmont faculty member mentor. Candidates who have completed a PhD or who are late-stage ABD by June 2021 from an AACSB-accredited university are invited to apply. We welcome applications from groups that historically have been under-represented in the profession. The department is seeking to interview applicants with a specialization in any field of applied economics and/or finance.
The fellowship consists of an annual $50,000 stipend, an annual $2,000 travel allowance, comprehensive health insurance, office space, a computer and instructional technology support at Belmont University. The Fellow is expected to spend each academic year on location at Belmont University. The Fellow will regularly participate in sessions, programs and activities provided by the Teaching Center for the Fellows and for the First-Year Faculty group. The Fellow will be paired with a Faculty Mentor who will provide guidance and supervision in matters related to teaching and research. Fellows and Mentors will also participate in general Teaching Center activities available to all faculty.
The successful candidate will teach two but no more than three courses a semester and is expected to provide quality teaching of principles courses in economics and/or finance. Upper-level and graduate-level instruction may also be available. The candidate is expected to develop and maintain a focused research agenda.
