Applications are invited from qualified individuals for the Van Vliet Term Professorship in Agricultural Economics in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Saskatchewan, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021 or soon thereafter. This is a term position with a mutually agreed upon term of 1 to 5 years.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or Economics with demonstrated expertise in International Agribusiness or International Trade and will be expected to have extensive knowledge of microeconomics and agribusiness in the areas of agricultural trade and trade policy with an ability to contribute to the undergraduate agribusiness program and the graduate program in agricultural economics. Evidence of being a high-quality post-secondary teacher-scholar and demonstrated ability to operate as a team player in a collegial environment is also required.
The appointee will typically deliver up to three courses per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Teaching expectations will be determined at time of appointment. The incumbent will provide leadership and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students, and engage with relevant agricultural industry stakeholders.
Salary bands for this position for the 2020 – 2021 academic year are as follows: Assistant Professor: $96,301 to $115,723; Associate Professor: $115,723 to $135,145; Full Professor: $135,145 to $157,804. In addition, research support will be included to assist in establishing a productive research program.
