Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Economic Policy Institute (EPI), a premier research institutes studying labor market trends and inequality and a key cog in the movement for economic justice in the U.S., is seeking a one-year visiting PhD economist. A variety of fields will be considered, but expertise in areas relevant to U.S. federal policy is necessary. The core duty is to supervise the production of internal research memorandum that provide a rigorous but understandable survey of research surrounding particular policy debates and trends. The visiting economist will be empowered to draw on internal EPI resources and will have ample time to pursue other research interests compatible with EPI’s mission. EPI has roughly a dozen senior researchers (mostly economics PhDs, but also lawyers and analysts) and is a highly collegial and productive work environment. For this position we would consider remote work and while it is time-limited, it could become permanent should funding allow. A range of experience will be considered for this position. The visiting economist will be a member of the EPI union.
