The Department of Economics at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway invites applications for a 3-year post doctoral position in applied macroeconomics. It is part of the research project “Inequality in 3D – measurement and implications for macroeconomic theory (3D-In-Macro)”, funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
“3D-In-Macro” studies causes and consequences of household inequality in income, wealth and consumption, emphasizing (1) macroeconomic implications of household heterogeneity, (2) approaches that utilize micro data to address macroeconomic questions.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree when starting in the position. As the project aims to combine rich micro data with macroeconomic models, applicants with a specialization in empirical work with large datasets and/or interests in quantitative models of heterogeneity are encouraged to apply.
Competence will be evaluated in accordance with ordinary regulations for academic positions at university institutions and the standards for scientific excellence within ERC projects. The evaluation will emphasize quality of previous and current research efforts, as well as relevance to the project's research agenda.
