The Department of Economics invites applications for a full-time, one-year, visiting position to begin July 1, 2021. We are seeking candidates with a strong teaching focus on the economics of Race and Inequality and are open to multiple fields of expertise. Candidates must have experience and evidence of teaching at least one independent class, evidence of research potential, and have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. in economics by the start date. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment.

The Economics Department is both dynamic and diverse, and among the largest departments at the College in terms of faculty size and number of majors. The Department maintains strong interdisciplinary relationships with a number of departments including Government and International Relations, Environmental Studies, Computer Science, and Mathematics and Statistics.

Connecticut College is a private, highly selective institution with a demonstrated commitment to outstanding faculty teaching and research. Visiting faculty members teach a 3-2 load. The college provides ongoing strong support for teaching. We value the contributions visitors bring to our community and encourage their active engagement with their departments and all aspects of campus life during the course of their appointment. Visiting faculty are initially participating members of the faculty and voting members in their second and subsequent years; their presence is welcome at all faculty meetings.
