The University of Chicago's Development Innovation Lab (DIL) and the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics invite applications for a full-time Senior Research Associate. This is a two-year renewable position that will begin on July 1, 2021.
The Senior Research Associate (SRA) will conduct original research under the supervision of the DIL Director (Professor Michael Kremer) and in collaboration with other DIL researchers. They will oversee research operations, including supervision of other researchers and research partners; co-author and solo-author research papers; serve as Co-Investigator and Principal Investigator on sponsored research projects; serve as a key member of the DIL senior leadership team; lead the Lab's work to develop and experimentally test scalable innovations to improve the lives of low-income people; present projects to funders and research partners; build relationships with policymakers, firms, research institutes, and NGOs in the region near Uganda; and be involved with a commission on innovations in agriculture and food security, which would explore how innovative solutions can be sealed up to address market failures, improve yields and raise incomes for smallholder farmers in developing countries.

Qualifications
Applicants are required to have PhD. in Economics; a background in empirical research; experience in grant writing; at least three years post-graduate research; knowledge of an experience running randomized control trials; and demonstrated expertise in development and behavioral economics. Experience in economics research on agriculture, education and/or water is preferred.
