The Congressional Budget Office is seeking to add two leaders in its Health Analysis Division: the director and one of its three unit chiefs. The division’s director collaborates with CBO’s senior managers to formulate and implement a strategic agenda for the division’s analytical work; works closely with the division’s other managers to oversee research and modeling; and oversees the development of reports produced by a staff of about 25 analysts, the majority of whom have a Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline. The position requires 10 years of relevant experience. The chief of the unit analyzing federal programs and policies that focus on health and health care markets—including Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance—will supervise a staff of about seven analysts. The unit chief will manage projects that are also staffed by analysts from other parts of CBO and help guide the agency’s analysis of health policy. The position requires at least 8 years of relevant experience. Both positions require an advanced degree in economics, health policy, or a related discipline.
