The Economist develops, conducts and communicates original research that builds thought leadership preeminence for the TIAA Institute in its areas of focus, addresses institutional and client needs, and aligns with TIAA business priorities. While managing large projects with limited oversight from their manager, this job strategizes in the areas of financial literacy and wellness, retirement benefit plan design and effectiveness, household retirement security, and organizational effectiveness in the higher education sector.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops and conducts research projects that support the Institute’s strategic research agenda.
Presents research findings to business partners, institutional clients and at academic conferences.
Conducts research through creation of traditional and non-traditional datasets in both cross-sectional and panel forms from large and complex raw data sets.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated research experience aligned with Institute focus areas.
• Strong programming skills in SAS, SQL, STATA, R, or Python.
• Ph.D. in economics or finance.
