Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) is seeking a Senior Economist to join our Economic and Policy Analysis practice, that supports a wide range of policy-oriented research at the federal, state, and local levels. Our clients include the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Wage and Hour Division (WHD), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state environmental and health agencies, non-profit institutions, and many others.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serving as technical lead for domestic US projects related to policies and regulations affecting public health, environment, labor, worker safety and health, energy, resiliency, climate adaptation, and others.
Analyzing benefits, costs, and impacts of regulations, policies, and programs.
Preparing written reports, memoranda, spreadsheet models, and presentations.
Supporting business development efforts by tracking and engaging in federal and state opportunities and participating in bid and proposal processes.
Demonstrating technical leadership and expertise via presentations at conferences and authoring publications.
The qualifications we are looking for are:
Master’s Degree in Economics plus a minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated experience (Ph.D. preferred).
7+ years of US expertise in one or more of the following areas including: environmental economics, health economics, regulatory economics, policy analysis, rulemaking support, cost-benefit analysis, economic impact analysis, regulatory impact analysis.
Experience working on programs or projects related to the environment, public health, labor markets, worker safety and health, and climate change.
Demonstrated technical and financial project management experience.
Experience in providing economic and/or policy assistance to federal and/or state agency clients.
Experience using @Risk, STATA, SAS, and/or R for data analysis and predictive analytics.
Experience developing custom analytic models in Excel.
Ability to lead, manage, and conduct technical and economic analyses both quantitative and qualitative in nature often under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate analyses and findings to various stakeholders in non-technical language, including senior government officials.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and TEAMS.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
