The Department of Business and Management, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, invites applications for one or more tenure track positions as Assistant Professor of Finance starting on February 1st, 2022 or on a mutually agreed date.
Job Qualifications:
We seek candidates with a strong research potential in Finance who must demonstrate the ability to publish in leading international journals within Finance or related areas. All areas of Finance are invited, but we particularly seek candidates with strong theoretical research skills within asset pricing as well as corporate finance. Applicants should have completed their PhD in Finance or a related area prior to starting. We also encourage seasoned candidates with a strong research pipeline and teaching experience to apply. Knowledge of Danish is not required for the position. The duration of the assistant professorship is six years. The position includes a tenure track. Tenure can be awarded at any point when the research and teaching requirements are clearly exceeded.
About The Finance Group:
The Finance Group is an active research group and a central pillar at the department and expected to be actively supporting the development of the SDU Business School, which has been established recently. For further information please visit www.sdu.dk/finance. The aim of the Finance Group is to carry out research of high international standards documented through publications in internationally distinguished journals and through presentations at top conferences. The Finance Group holds an active seminar series as well as workshops which are internationally recognized. Faculty members conduct research within all main areas of Finance (e.g., corporate finance, asset pricing, banking, household finance, and financial markets) and frequently interact in colloquia meetings. The department provides a research supportive environment and research facilities. This includes access to data (e.g., CRSP and Compustat), travel support, and computing facilities.
The Finance Group offers undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance. The teaching load is favorable. Beneficial tax agreements may apply to non-Danish applicants. The remuneration package is competitive at the European level and includes a fixed-term stipend to qualified candidates and substantial publication bonuses funded by the Danish Finance Institute.
