For more than 25 years, UniDistance Suisse has been offering part-time bachelor’s, master’s and continuing education courses through blended and distance learning. UniDistance Suisse comprises 11 chairs and 4 faculties and employs around 50 back-office staff and more than 300 lecturers.

Over 2,000 students study a variety of courses in either French, German or English. Online studies are an ideal solution for anyone who wants to combine study, work, family and leisure.

UniDistance Suisse meets the highest quality standards, not only in university teaching but also in academic research. As a university institute, we are in the process of setting up our own chairs, each with its own staff and financial resources.

To complete our team, we are recruiting for a:
100% tenure track position - Assistant Professor in Economics
with a focus on behavioural economics and/or international empirical macroeconomics

Your tasks

-Conducting research in the field of behavioral economics or international macroeconomics. Research in
other specializations is also possible
-Teaching at both bachelor’s and master’s level and, as required, at the level of continuing education
(courses in micro or macroeconomics, specialized courses according to the needs of the department)
-Supervision of students’ bachelor’s and master’s theses as well as co-supervision of doctoral students
-Participation in the development of synergies with other UniDistance Suisse departments and other
academic institutions
-Participation in the development of an English language master’s programme in economics
-Design and submission of external research funding applications
-Participation in the development of the department and UniDistance Suisse

Your profile

-PhD in Economics
-Research experience in the areas of specialization, with publication of research in working paper
series
-Publications in recognized journals including peer-reviewed journals
-A clear programme for future research
-Teaching experience in French and/or English. Familiarity with online teaching tools is an asset
-Experience in obtaining external research funding
-Willingness and ability to participate in the development of the academic structures of the study
programme and the faculty
-Willingness and ability to participate actively in academic committees and in the development of the
faculty and the institution
-Fluency in French with very good knowledge of English; very good knowledge of German is an asset
