The Department of Social Sciences at Universidad Católica del Uruguay invites applications for one full-time position, starting in August 2022. We welcome applications from candidates with strong research potential in any field of economics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics by August 2022. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and publish in leading academic journals. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required. Compensation is competitive.

The Department of Social Sciences comprises a group of young scholars with research interests that span across economics, politics, urban studies and sociology. Universidad Católica is the largest private university in Uruguay and the Department is located at its urban campus in Montevideo, a peaceful and culturally vibrant city which consistently tops Mercer's Quality of Living rankings in South America.
