The UChicago/UCEMA Joint Initiative for Latin American Experimental Economics (JILAEE) is accepting applications for one postdoctoral scholar position with start date in July 2022, or earlier on agreement.
JILAEE is a recently established research center that is co-directed by Julio J. Elias (Universidad del CEMA) and John A. List (University of Chicago). Its mission is to promote the use of field experiments in Latin America, and to strengthen relationships between researchers, governments, and private organizations to advance the use of (experimental) economics. JILAEE postdoctoral scholars spend 2/3 of their time in Buenos Aires, Argentina to establish new research partnerships, design and conduct field experiments, and strengthen their research pipeline before starting tenure track faculty positions. JILAEE postdocs spend 1/3 of their time at the University of Chicago, and are closely integrated in John List's experimental economics group throughout the term of the postdoctoral position. The postdoctoral scholars are highly encouraged to start new projects and co-author on research papers with JILAEE affiliates and researchers in Latin America and the University of Chicago.
There are no teaching or administrative obligations. The term for the position is flexible and can be up to two years. Applicants with research interests in experimental economics, development economics, and/or behavioral economics and experience in conducting field experiments will be given priority.
