The Economics Department at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor with a primary field in Macroeconomics to start in August 2022. Candidates must have a secondary field relating to Poverty/Well-being or strong GIS skills. A PhD or ABD in Economics with an expected completion date of August 2022 is required. Candidates must provide evidence of research in the field of Macroeconomics. Candidates must also have a record of excellence in teaching as the primary instructor of record. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
The Department offers B.S./B.A. degrees in economics and offers courses for a number of graduate programs on campus. The teaching load is nine hours per semester and includes courses in principles of macroeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, econometrics, and other upper-division courses such as data analytics or money and banking. Candidates may also be asked to develop a course in GIS or Poverty/Well-being. Duties also include committee work, advising, mentoring, and recruiting majors/minors for the economics department. Demonstrated commitment to diversity in the educational community is required.
