Xavier University, an AACSB accredited Jesuit University in the Catholic tradition, invites applications for a teaching professor position in the Department of Economics beginning in Fall 2022. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. We welcome applicants from all fields, with an ability and commitment to teach high quality courses in Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and upper-level electives. Preferences will be given to candidates who can teach Environmental Economics, Public Economics or Intermediate Macroeconomics. Teaching professors are expected to be active members of the department/university. Salary will be competitive. The teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester. Applicants are expected to have completed their Master/PhD prior to the start of the Fall 2022 semester.
To ensure consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, evidence of outstanding teaching (such as teaching evaluations, class syllabus, assignment samples, exam samples), statements of teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation, and a diversity statement by November 15, 2021.
Preliminary interviews of selected candidates will be conducted on Zoom in January, 2022.
