The department seeks applications for an online lecturer for Spring 2022 semester. Candidates should be prepared to teach principles of microeconomics online and asynchronized. A lecturer is an academic-year-to-academic-year appointment, with responsibility for high-quality classroom instruction, the use of up-to-date and effective learning assessment tools, and meeting with students during virtual office hours and at other times as necessary. This appointment is renewable depending on teaching evaluations and departmental needs.
The department has 23 faculty, half working in agriculture. Undergraduate degrees are offered in Agricultural Business, Economics, and Financial Engineering, with undergraduate majors numbering about 350. The department offers a very rigorous, highly respected Master’s in Applied Economics, graduating an average of 6-7 students per year. MSU is a land-grant university with total enrollment of over 17,000 students, including 2,000 graduate students. It is recognized as a highly-intensive research university.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s or ABD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
2. Current expertise and substantial knowledge in the specific field or discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience teaching economics.
2. Ph.D. candidate in Economics or Agricultural Economics.
