The Department of Economics at Union College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Applied Microeconomics, beginning September 1, 2022. We have a preference for candidates with expertise in the economics of gender, race, inequality, financial economics, public economics, or technology. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to Union's broad array of interdisciplinary programs, including Africana Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Asian Studies, Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, and Data Analytics, or play a role in developing collaborations with our Engineering program. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and be able to teach Intermediate Microeconomics or Econometrics as well as elective courses related to their specialization. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Union College is a highly selective liberal arts college located in the Capital Region of the State of New York and offers highly competitive salary and benefits. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. by September 1, 2022, an established record of teaching excellence and a strong research program. Our annual teaching load is six courses over three ten-week terms, which typically consists of four classroom courses and the supervision of eight senior theses. Tenure track hires have a one course load reduction in their first year and receive additional research support. We are open to hiring at the advanced assistant professor level with an accelerated tenure clock.
