The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Europe (Bologna, Italy) is seeking to fill up to two resident faculty positions in finance and development economics. Both positions are endowed professorships. A strong background in empirical research, including data science, and econometrics is an advantage for both positions. The Vera and Stefano Zamagni Professorship in development economics will be tenure-track at the assistant or associate professor rank. Candidates will be expected to have innovative, eclectic research agendas related to the broad field of development economics, including the implications of climate change for developing economies, sustainability, and finance and development policy. The James Anderson Professorship in International Economics and Finance will have an open rank and may be either tenure-track/tenured or a term appointment. Candidates will have a focus in the general areas of finance and financial markets, including finance and innovation, Fintech, behavioral finance, corporate finance, or financial intermediation. Candidates with substantial practical experience in theseareas could be considered outside the tenure track with a term appointment.

Preference given to candidates who combine outstanding research with proven or potential excellence in teaching and experience in the field.
